Boots wanted to create a fun, festive, feel good campaign for Christmas 2022 spearheaded by a magical film.
We needed to be mindful of the mood of the nation and the concerns around the rising cost of living crisis - and position Boots as a brand that understood this and offered real savings across thousands of festive gifts.
The Solution:
We created the JOY FOR ALL Christmas campaign - with a shamelessly upbeat film at the heart of it.
The story of a young likeable woman who discovers a pair of magical specs that allow her to see what sparks JOY in the people around her - giving her perfect gift ideas for her nearest and dearest (all found at Boots).
The Result:
The film was voted The Drum's most popular Christmas ad of 2022, and the campaign delivered a massive ROI of £4 for every £1 spent by client - truly delivering JOY FOR ALL!

We harnessed data, technology and media to really bring the JOY FOR ALL idea to life in meaningful ways for our audiences.
We partnered with Meta to add AR into the mix to give shoppers their very own 'Magic Specs' to help them find their own perfect gifts.
This helped increase both ad and brand recall by a whopping 9 points: Meta Casestudy
We also encourage them to be the very first retailer to ever use the TikTok Story Selector format, helping viewers see different versions of the ads based on who they were likely to shop for due to a 33% increase in 1st party data usage: TikTok Casestudy
Joyful Brand Partnership:
We further leveraged the populist nature of both the brand and campaign by partnering with Channel 4 to create the Boots JOY FOR ALL collection.
